To get a Michigan Hunter Safety card in Lake County:

1. On your own: learn the written material and get your "admission ticket".
   • $25 option: Go here and look for "Online courses". You get an online certificate - it is not a Hunter Safety card; it's your ticket to the field day.
     
   • Free option: Study from the free textbooks, Today's Hunter in Michigan and Hunting and Trapping Digest. The 4-page review is your ticket to the field day.
     
2. With us: Register for and attend a field day, which includes written and practical exams. Here's the registration form; here're important details about the class.
   To attend the field day you need one of two entrance tickets: either your online certificate, or your 4-page review.

After you complete the field day you get your Michigan Hunter Safety card right there on the spot.
